The 2009 Lancer is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, available in 5 trims, ranging from the DE to the Ralliart.
Upon introduction, the DE is equipped with a standard 2.0-liter, I4, 152-horsepower engine that achieves 22-mpg in the city and 30-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The Ralliart is equipped with a standard 2.0-liter, I4, 237-horsepower, turbo engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard.

MPG is not very good. 23 to 24 is the best I can do but with a Turbo it is tough not putting my foot into it, very fast for a 2.0 with turbo. Lots of room for 4 adults to sit comfortably. Lots of shary edges on the steel stampings and tinny doors. I guess for the $$$$ a good purchase. We will see how in holds up.
Good engine & transmission performance, fair price with good rebates and a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty for a Japanese car company. I believe that the 92 years experience of Mitsubishi shows in their cars and carmaking performance abilities.
