The 2009 Altima is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, available in 4 trims, ranging from the 2.5 to the 3.5 SL.
Upon introduction, the 2.5 is equipped with a standard 2.5-liter, I4, 175-horsepower engine that achieves 23-mpg in the city and 31-mpg on the highway. The 3.5 SL is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 270-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.
The 2009 Altima is a carryover from 2008.
MSRP
$19,900 - $29,380The interior noise seems a little loud to me at highway speeds. Any inperfections in road surfaces seems to be transmitted into the cabin more than I care for.
The 2.5 engine is noisy under hard acceleration. Under normal circumstances it's acceptable. The fuel mileage for the 2.5 engine is good. If you buy an Altima, get one with the 3.5 engine! The 3.5 engine is much more powerful, smoother, and refined. The 3.5 engine is probably the best engine Nissan has ever built
