The 2009 Equator Crew Cab is a 4-door, 5-passenger compact pickup, available in 5 trims, ranging from the Base 4X2 to the RMZ 4X4.   

The Base 4X2 is equipped with a standard 4.0-liter, V6, 261-horsepower engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 20-mpg on the highway. The RMZ 4X4 is equipped with a standard 4.0-liter, V6, 261-horsepower engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 19-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.

The 2009 Suzuki Equator offers a pair of transmission options for the four-cylinder engine, which Consumer Guide lists as either "a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission," although the V-6 comes exclusively with the automatic. Motor Trend also points out that the Suzuki 2009 Equator is offered in either "two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive" configurations.
