Daihatsu gave the Terios a mild facelift both in the exterior and interior of the vehicle. A new chrome grille replaced the plastic black grille. The high-grade model had an addition of electric front windows, central locking, rear seat head restraints, alloy wheels, roof rails and a roof-mounted rear spoiler. Mechanically, the 1.3 litre SOHC four cylinder engine fitted to the previous model had been replaced by the new 1.3 litre DOHC four cylinder engine.
The D-compact concept previews a production SUV, and shares parts--since Daihatsu is now in the Toyota fold--with another Frankfurt introduction, the latest RAV4. The as-yet unnamed vehicle will replace the aging Terios, which has been on sale since 1997. Power comes from the same newly developed 1.5-liter in-line four that'sfitted to the HVS. It drives all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
Power was also increased by 3 kW (4 hp). A sport version of K3-VT engine were produced on Japan in several period.The Terios however will come more cheaply, with the standard model priced at 122 million rupiah, the TX manual at 151 million, and the TX automatic at 161 million.
