2009 Aston Martin DB9 Quick Look

MSRP: $182,450 - $199,950
The 2009 DB9 is a 2-door, 4-passenger luxury sports car, or convertible sports car, available in two trims, the Coupe and the Volante.

The Aston Martin DB9 is a thoroughbred sports car with GT levels of comfort and refinement. Combining Aston Martin’s unique character with an uncompromising design philosophy, the DB9 was borne out of a synthesis of traditional craftsmanship, high-tech manufacturing, modern components and use of the finest materials.

Introduced in 2004 as the successor to Aston Martin's legendary DB7, the DB9 is admired for its elegant, heart-pounding design, luxurious appointments, and thrilling performance capabilities. "This car was created, not built," writes the Detroit News. "If God needed wheels, they'd be an Aston Martin DB9 convertible." Automobile Magazine adds, "The DB9 Volante is almost the perfect Hollywood car -- sporty enough for high-speed runs up Mulholland Drive or over Angeles Crest Highway and stylish enough to stand out on Rodeo Drive without looking pretentious or gaudy."

Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 6.0-liter, V12, 470-horsepower engine that achieves 12-mpg in the city and 19-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is optional.

The DB9's cabin is comfortable and luxurious, so long as you're not sitting in the backseat. "Be aware, up front, that the '+2' is a figure of speech," writes BusinessWeek. "The back seat of the DB9 isn't much bigger than a briefcase. The front seats, on the other hand, are surprisingly roomy and comfortable, even for the tallest adult male." Still, the DB9 is tight on cargo space
